Job Purpose

To ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards and legal requirements. The role supports operational safety, facilitates audits, conducts inspections, monitors contractors, and drives awareness and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

SHEQ Compliance & Reporting

• Adhere to SHEQ Toolbox requirements

• Use IMS to report and investigate SHEQ status

• Generate SHEQ system reports for legal and internal compliance

• Maintain safety files for contractors

• Conduct SHEQ inspections and internal ISO audits

• Identify SHEQ trends and recommend actions

• Monitor fire-fighting systems

• Participate in SHEQ campaigns

• Train employees on SHEQ systems

• Conduct incident investigations as per legal standards

Customer Focus

• Ensure customer satisfaction in SHEQ matters

Financial Control

• Monitor and control costs within the section

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / N3

• Higher Certificate (NQF 5) or National Diploma (NQF 6) in Safety Management

• Blasting Certificate or Trade Certificate

• 5 years’ experience in a similar role (2 years at supervisory level preferred)

• ISO Auditor Certification in:

  • OSHAS 18001

  • ISO 9001

  • ISO 14001

• MS Office proficiency
