Main Purpose of Job

To proactively minimise financial risk and ensure maximum recovery of outstanding debt.

---

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mitigate financial risks proactively

• Collect outstanding debt within set benchmarks

• Analyse the debtor’s book and report trends

• Maintain strong relationships and ensure satisfaction among stakeholders

---

Required Education

• Essential: Grade 12 (Matric)

---

Experience Requirements

• Essential: 1–2 years of debt collection experience

• Desired: 2–3 years of experience in healthcare industry collections, including:

  • Experience with Workman’s Compensation Act (WCA)

---

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Debt collection processes and patient account follow-ups (including EDI, unclaimed overpayments, and bad debt)

• Knowledge of Patient Administration policies and systems (including RIS/practice management)

• Understanding of funder contracts and requirements

• Solid accounting principles (e.g., reconciliations, adjustment journals)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Familiarity with relevant legislation:

• National Credit Act

• Consumer Protection Act

• Workman’s Compensation Act
