Job Overview
Hollywoodbets is offering a fantastic opportunity for 50 Betting Clerks to join their Durban team on a casual basis. This role is ideal for energetic, detail-oriented individuals who can manage customer bets, cash, and ensure excellent customer service while maintaining compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Branch Operations and Growth

• Ensure betting boards are updated on time.

• Update memos, card changes, results, and scratchings.

• Understand all betting rules, odds, and payout procedures.

• Know confirmation limits and seek approval for large bets when necessary.

Sales and Administration

• Manage cash in line with processes and minimize risk or fraud.

• Stay alert to any fraudulent activities or emerging scams.

Cash Management

• Confirm float accuracy at the start of shifts.

• Conduct interim checks with team leaders.

• Immediately resolve any cash shortages (under R250 paid back same day).

• Record all shortages/overs on the daily reconciliation.

Branch Appearance

• Maintain a clean and professional branch environment.

• Keep workstations functional and tidy.

• Report any technical malfunctions (e.g., betting terminals or TVs) promptly.

Customer Service

• Deliver friendly, helpful, and courteous service.

• Resolve customer issues proactively and provide clear feedback.

• Foster good relationships with regular punters.

• Promote a service-driven culture within the branch.

Compliance

• Adhere to company policies and internal control procedures.

• Comply with the code of ethics and report any suspicious behavior.

• Wear the correct Hollywood uniform when on duty.

• No credit bets allowed.

• Team members cannot place bets while on duty or in uniform.

• Do not use the Limited Pay-out Machine while on duty.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Valid driver’s license (advantageous)

• Relevant diploma/degree (advantageous)

• 1–2 years’ experience in the gaming industry (advantageous)
