Position Overview
The Transport Controller will oversee the roadworthiness and cleanliness of the fleet, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries while maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Route Planning: Develop and manage delivery routes to ensure efficiency.
- Fleet Management: Oversee service plans, roadworthiness (COF), and licensing.
- Reporting: Generate service level reports for operational insights.
- Staff Supervision: Manage and supervise truck crews.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and control transport-related expenses.
- Operational Management: Ensure truck departures are timely and deliveries are completed on schedule.
- People Management: Lead and support team members effectively.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Foster synergy across functional teams.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain high standards for safety, performance, and efficiency.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification with strong numerical skills and PC literacy.
- A relevant qualification will be an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Technical background and/or qualification as a Diesel Mechanic.
- At least 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Valid C1 Driver’s License and Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
