Job Summary
Clover's Port Elizabeth branch seeks Laboratory Technicians to conduct basic laboratory tests and report on results. This role ensures that laboratory operations, testing, and quality assurance processes meet high standards in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in a relevant field.
- Skills:
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Fluent in Business English.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Experience with job-related concepts, techniques, and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations:
- Setup, maintain, and operate laboratory equipment.
- Prepare stocks of chemical and microbiological reagents/cultures/media.
- Follow standard operating procedures for equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Sampling and Testing:
- Prepare and analyze samples.
- Conduct QC/laboratory analyses, including raw and packaging material testing.
- Record, report, and file results as required.
- Monitor and calibrate laboratory equipment at the start of each shift.
- Investigate non-conformities, perform retests, and submit final reports.
- Ensure quality checks are completed before product release.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing PPE.
- Understand emergency procedures and safety equipment use (e.g., eyewash stations).
- Report all safety incidents promptly.
