Job Summary
Alert Engine Parts is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Counter Salesman to join their team in Johannesburg. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, providing excellent customer service, and fostering strong customer relationships. Reporting to the Retail Manager, the ideal candidate will have strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Sales & Relationship Building:
- Manage counter sales and maximize customer potential.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers.
- Provide quotations, pricing details, and product/service information.
Sales Targets & Market Insights:
- Achieve sales targets as set by management.
- Plan, forecast, and report on sales potentials.
- Report competitor activities and pricing.
Collaboration & Support:
- Assist other departments (Accounts, Dispatch, Warehousing, Receiving, and Technical) to minimize customer queries.
- Ensure smooth operations by coordinating with internal teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Matric is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in a sales parts environment.
- Extensive experience meeting customer needs in a sales environment.
- Knowledge of the geographical area of responsibility.
- A technical background is advantageous.
Skills and Personal Attributes
- Strong team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Business acumen and understanding of cost and service delivery dynamics.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in planning and time management.
