Job Overview

Parts Incorporated Africa is actively seeking two General Workers to join our dynamic team in the Nelspruit branch. The role is integral to the smooth operation of the warehouse and involves a variety of duties that support the effective handling, storage, and distribution of motor and engine parts. This position requires individuals who are detail-oriented, can work efficiently under pressure, and are committed to maintaining high standards in all aspects of warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities

1. Binning and Inventory Management:

  • Properly bin all incoming merchandise in designated warehouse areas, following the company’s standard operating procedures.
  • Allocate and update bin locations for new products, ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained.
  • Assist in the replenishment of stock from bulk areas to picking locations to ensure continuous availability of inventory.
  • Ensure that all goods received are checked and verified according to company quality standards.

2. Order Picking and Packing:

  • Timely and accurate picking of orders for customers and branch requests to meet daily cut-off times.
  • Adhere to picking procedures, including using alternative bulk locations when stock in pick areas is depleted.
  • Follow up on customer orders and assist in preventing the breakage of packed items by handling with care.
  • Support the stock take process and conduct daily housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform double-checks on picked orders to ensure accuracy, reducing the risk of errors and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

3. Scanner Control and Equipment Management:

  • Issue handheld scanners to operators at the start of each shift and log the details on the electronic app.
  • Receive scanners back at the end of the shift, inspect for any damage, and update the inventory system accordingly.
  • Report any scanner malfunctions or damages immediately to the supervisor for timely resolution.
  • Maintain a daily log of scanner usage, ensuring accurate records are kept for auditing purposes.

4. General Warehouse Duties:

  • Assist with general warehouse tasks, including unloading and moving stock, maintaining accurate stock counts, and organizing the workspace.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed to increase operational efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Comply with safety regulations and ensure that all tasks are carried out safely to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Assist colleagues and team members with their duties as required, particularly during busy periods or staff shortages.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
    • At least 3 years of experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is highly desirable.
    • In-depth knowledge of motor parts, spares, and engine components, including familiarity with warehouse systems and procedures.
