Purpose of the Role:
The Warehouse Operator (Bulk Handling) is responsible for efficiently managing inbound products, including offloading, recording product age, and proper storage. This role is crucial in maintaining inventory freshness, replenishing pick lines, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment to support the smooth operation of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offload inbound products from delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Record the age of all received items for inventory tracking and compliance.
- Inspect products for quality and correct packaging before labeling.
- Generate and place labels on incoming pallets accurately.
- Store and organize inbound products in designated areas.
- Replenish pick lines to ensure a continuous supply for order fulfillment.
- Implement stock rotation practices to prevent product expiration.
- Conduct equipment inspections and report any issues to maintain safety.
- Communicate concerns about product quality or incorrect labeling to the Controller.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Establish a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Contribute to team goals and maintain operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the FMCG Retail industry.
- Licenses: Valid Electric Pallet Jack License and Forklift License.
Competencies Required:
- Strong interpersonal skills, embodying Econo Foods’ values and HO HOLA culture.
- Friendly, confident, and able to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
