About the Position:

ANEW Resort Vulintaba is in search of an enthusiastic and personable Waitron to join our Food and Beverage team. This role is vital in providing exceptional service to our guests by assisting with orders, serving, and promoting our menu offerings. The Waitron will play a key role in creating positive first impressions and delivering memorable dining experiences, contributing to our mission of customer satisfaction and brand success.

The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a customer-oriented attitude, and experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in a restaurant setting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 certificate is essential; a hospitality qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • At least one year of experience as a waiter within the hospitality industry, ideally in a 3- or 4-star establishment.
    • Previous restaurant experience is essential.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of Plus point systems and restaurant procedures.
    • Excellent customer service skills, with an organized and detail-oriented approach.
    • Strong communication skills and a positive, self-motivated attitude.
  • Availability: Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Greet and welcome guests warmly as they enter the restaurant.
    • Project a friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
    • Explain menu items clearly, detailing ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation, ensuring guests are well-informed to make their dining choices.
    • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance the dining experience and improve average customer spend.
  • Order Management:
    • Accurately record guest orders using the Plus point system and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
    • Adhere strictly to cash and money-handling procedures, maintaining accuracy and accountability.
  • Setup and Cleanliness:
    • Prepare conference venues and restaurant areas, ensuring tables are set, decorations are in place, and all utensils and condiments are available.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, promptly cleaning and resetting them for the next guests.
  • Guest Farewell:
    • Provide a warm farewell to guests, ensuring a positive impression as they depart and encouraging their return to the hotel.
