Job Summary:

ANEW Hotel OR Tambo is seeking a skilled and confident Barman to join our Food and Beverage team. This individual will be responsible for providing excellent service by taking and preparing beverage orders, creating memorable guest experiences through friendly service, and contributing to the hotel’s success. The Barman will have a solid understanding of the bar menu, POS systems, and inventory control to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Higher Certificate or Grade 12 qualification.
  • Experience:
    • At least 1 year of bartending experience in a 4- or 5-star establishment.
    • Restaurant experience is required; a bartending certificate is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with POS systems and computer literacy.
    • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
    • Strong administrative and stock management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Greet guests warmly and take drink orders, demonstrating knowledge of the bar menu.
    • Prepare and serve drinks in line with hotel standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
    • Engage with guests to enhance their experience and provide recommendations when appropriate.
  • Bar Operations:
    • Maintain a clean and organized bar area at all times.
    • Stock fridges and other stations regularly to ensure availability of beverages and supplies.
    • Perform stock take before and after each shift, maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Standards and Compliance:
    • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding drink preparation and customer interaction.
    • Uphold health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with all operational protocols.
