Position Overview:
Our client in the Automotive and Manufacturing sector is seeking a motivated Solar Assistant/General Worker to join their team. This role involves hands-on work with solar installations for a variety of projects, ranging from residential to large-scale operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Work closely with the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager to review project plans and ensure all installations are up to code, meet design requirements, and comply with by-laws.
  • System Setup and Troubleshooting: Assist with setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting solar systems, documenting any issues and outcomes.
  • Assembly and Installation: Participate in the assembly and installation of solar equipment for residential, commercial, and large-scale projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside the Installation Supervisor and engineering teams to complete projects, ensuring seamless cooperation and efficient progress.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality, safety, and industry standards, minimizing costs and waste throughout the installation process.
  • Maintenance and Record-Keeping: Maintain warranty and repair records, manage logistics for repairs and returns, and uphold high standards of operational efficiency.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients, ensuring a positive experience and satisfaction with services.
  • Project Budgeting and Scheduling: Help to keep projects within budget and on schedule through effective team collaboration.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Experience: 1-3 years in a similar role; experience with solar installations is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
