Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated General Assistant to join our TimberCity team. As a General Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of our business unit. This position requires flexibility to work across various areas of the business, assisting with a range of tasks that support both our customers and team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Customer Assistance: Help customers and drivers with accurately prepared orders and provide prompt assistance during loading and offloading.
- Vehicle Support: Assist with loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring they are clean and safely loaded.
- Stock Maintenance: Keep yard stock items, store shelves, boards, and other stock organized and easily accessible for customers.
- Workshop Assistance: Provide support to customers and suppliers in the workshop/joinery areas when required.
- Wash Bay Duties: Perform wash bay activities with accuracy and efficiency.
- Values and Culture: Uphold and promote company values and contribute to a positive work culture.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum of Grade 12.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with building materials or similar products is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Skills: Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving stock items as needed.
