Job Overview

Alert Engine Parts is looking for a motivated and target-driven Sales Person to join our team at the George branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales, providing excellent customer service, and building strong relationships with clients. This role is perfect for someone with a strong sales background, a passion for the automotive parts industry, and a desire to grow within a reputable company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Sales and Service:

    • Manage customer and counter sales efficiently to maximize potential and meet set targets.
    • Provide accurate quotations and detailed product information to assist customers in making informed purchase decisions.
    • Respond to inbound sales inquiries promptly, offering pricing details and support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Achieving Sales Targets:

    • Meet or exceed the sales targets as set by the Sales, Branch, or Retail Manager.
    • Actively seek new business opportunities to grow the customer base and increase market share within the assigned geographical area.
    • Report on sales performance, forecasting potential sales by customer, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Market Intelligence:

    • Monitor and report on competitor activities and pricing strategies to remain competitive in the market.
    • Gather and relay customer feedback, including issues with deliveries, telesales, and account problems, to improve service quality.
  • Relationship Building:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences.
    • Collaborate with other departments (Accounts, Dispatch, Warehousing, Receiving, and Technical) to resolve customer queries quickly and enhance overall service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Matric (Grade 12).
    • At least 2 years of experience in a sales environment, specifically dealing with automotive parts.
    • Proven experience in a customer-facing sales role, with a strong understanding of customer service requirements.
    • Knowledge of the local geographical area of responsibility.
    • A technical background in automotive parts would be a strong advantage.
