About the Role:

Ampath is seeking a dynamic and professional Receptionist for its Cedar Road Fourways branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent frontline support to both external clients and internal team members. This position requires someone who can effectively manage client interactions, coordinate administrative tasks, and maintain a welcoming environment.


Purpose of the Position:

The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for all visitors and clients, ensuring that they receive prompt and efficient service. The role involves handling inquiries, managing appointments, and assisting with various office tasks to support the overall operations of the Ampath Central Services department.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 certificate with Typing and Mathematics.
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
    • Proficiency in using Google Suite (Google Mail, Google Docs).
    • Familiarity with the Meditech system.
    • Competence in MS Excel and MS Word.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relations:

    • Greet visitors and clients warmly, providing assistance and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
    • Handle incoming calls, answer queries, and provide information about Ampath services.
    • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, ensuring a positive client experience.
  2. Boardroom Coordination:

    • Schedule and manage boardroom bookings to ensure efficient use of meeting spaces.
    • Prepare boardrooms for meetings, ensuring that they are tidy and well-equipped.
  3. Administrative Support:

    • Perform a variety of office tasks, including filing, data entry, and maintaining client records.
    • Assist with organizing departmental schedules and appointments.
  4. Cashiering Duties:

    • Handle payments for tests conducted, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
    • Perform cashiering tasks efficiently and securely, following company protocols.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for effective client interactions.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling tasks and client inquiries.
