About the Role:

Midas is looking for a dedicated General Worker to join the Mega Main Reef branch in Krugersdorp. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of warehouse duties, including stock handling, binning, picking, packing, and housekeeping. If you have experience in a warehouse or logistics environment and are eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role could be a great fit.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Binning and Replenishment:

  • Allocate new products to appropriate bin locations in the warehouse.
  • Perform binning of incoming stock and ensure timely replenishment from bulk to pick locations.
  • Update bin locations and notify the supervisor of any changes.
  • Assist with the replenishment of stock and verify incoming goods according to company standards.

2. Order Picking:

  • Pick customer and branch orders efficiently to meet cut-off times.
  • Use alternative bins for picking only when necessary (e.g., bulk orders or depleted stock).
  • Ensure accuracy during picking to prevent errors and reduce pack size breakage.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and maintain high standards of customer service.

3. Stock Control and Housekeeping:

  • Participate in regular stock take procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse daily.
  • Double-check stock and orders to prevent discrepancies and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve set operational targets consistently.

4. Scanner Management:

  • Issue scanners to operators daily and track usage using the electronic app.
  • Inspect scanners for any damage and report issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain an up-to-date scanner issue spreadsheet.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Grade 12 (Matric) with literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (preferable).
  • Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with spares, motor, and engine parts, as well as warehouse systems and procedures.

  • High attention to detail, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Self-motivated and willing to go above and beyond in tasks.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Physically fit to handle manual tasks.
