Job Summary:

Rand Water is seeking a Construction Plant Operator to support construction operations, distribution maintenance, and pipeline operations. The role involves operating mobile and crawler cranes, TLBs, and driving heavy vehicles for the delivery and collection of goods and equipment in Rand Water’s supply area.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12.
• Driver’s License: Code 14 with PRDP.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in construction plant equipment operation, preferably with mobile cranes and heavy vehicle driving.

Primary Duties:

• Operating Equipment: Use various construction plant equipment, including mobile and crawler cranes, excavators, and front-end loaders.
• Driving: Operate both rigid and articulated heavy vehicles.
• Documentation: Ensure proper documentation for equipment and transport is completed.
• General Duties: Assist with all relevant construction operations and distribution maintenance tasks.

  • Must be certified to operate the following:
    • Excavator
    • Mobile crane
    • Crawler crane
    • Front-end loader
    • Tractor loader backhoe
    • Pipe layer
• Skills:
