About the Position:

Ampath is seeking a diligent Branch Admin Officer to join our team in Klerksdorp. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our pathology laboratory's administrative functions. This position is critical to maintaining accurate records, providing timely reports, and ensuring efficient service delivery within our branch operations. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.


Purpose of the Position:

The main purpose of this role is to deliver effective administrative support services within the pathology laboratory environment. The Branch Admin Officer will be responsible for performing key tasks such as logging, route reporting, and document printing, helping to maintain the smooth flow of operations and ensuring that all records are kept up to date and easily accessible.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in administrative tasks, preferably within a pathology laboratory setting.
    • Solid understanding of medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of the Meditech system or similar laboratory information systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relations:

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, providing exceptional service to promote the professional image of Ampath.
    • Address client inquiries and provide accurate information, ensuring client satisfaction and effective communication.
  2. General Administrative Support:

    • Perform a variety of administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and documentation management, to ensure all paperwork is accurate and accessible.
    • Assist with scheduling, organizing meetings, and managing correspondence to support the branch’s day-to-day activities.
  3. Logging and Reporting:

    • Conduct logging activities accurately to maintain detailed records of samples and documentation.
    • Prepare route reports, print necessary documents, and ensure all information is updated in the system for smooth operational flow.
  4. Compliance and Record Keeping:

    • Ensure that all administrative tasks adhere to internal policies and quality standards.
    • Maintain meticulous records to support the accuracy and reliability of the laboratory’s data management system.
