Job Overview
The Spitz Group seeks a dedicated Assistant Store Manager to maintain high standards of customer service and meet sales targets through effective team management. This role assists the Store Manager with store administration, sales performance, and customer relations.
Key Responsibilities
Policy and Procedure Compliance
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly administrative checks per guidelines.
- Prepare cash for banking and ensure collection is processed.
Cash Control
- Ensure staff are trained in POS operations and cash processes.
- Investigate, resolve, and clear cash variances.
- Capture manual transactions promptly.
Stock Management
- Provide training and support for stock control.
- Investigate and clear stock variances.
- Organize weekly and quarterly stock counts accurately.
Store Supervision in Manager’s Absence
- Ensure the store opens on time, follows trading standards, and has adequate staffing.
- Maintain customer relations and follow all set instructions.
Customer Service Development
- Cultivate a service-driven culture in-store.
- Coach and train staff on customer service and store policies.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience:
- At least 5 years in retail.
- Minimum of 2 years in administration management within a large retail environment.
- Experience managing a store with a turnover exceeding R20 million annually.
- Qualifications:
- Matric/Grade 12 required; tertiary retail qualification is advantageous.
