Site Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng


Purpose of the Job
To coordinate and supervise daily transport operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and service excellence. The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing driver attendance, dispatch planning, vehicle readiness, and enforcing operational standards.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Monitor driver attendance and manage staffing with labour broker and regional manager

  • Accurately record driver hours for weekly wages

  • Manage all fuel processes: refueling, tracking, card usage, and reconciliation

  • Ensure fleet condition complies with company standards

  • Oversee route planning, loading/offloading, dispatch, and documentation handover

  • Enforce protocols for accidents, product claims, and breakdowns

  • Debrief driver trip sheets and cross-check with tracking reports

  • Oversee vehicle inspections, bookings, and compliance checks (COF, PDP, etc.)

  • Ensure all PPE and uniforms are issued and in use

  • Maintain and test vehicle tracking systems regularly

  • Keep the site clean and safe; conduct monthly panic button and tyre checks

  • Ensure loads are secure and compliant; keys are locked away daily

Administrative Duties

  • Compile and submit reports including:

    • Vehicle Utilisation

    • Absenteeism

    • Workshop Status

    • Fuel Consumption

    • Tracking Reports

    • Fleet Control

    • Weekly Site and Daily Stats Reports

  • Ensure all customer-related documentation is accurate and signed off

Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients

  • Monitor and meet customer KPIs and service levels

  • Provide reports and operational updates; address issues proactively


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
