Purpose of the Role

To drive revenue and customer growth through Vodacom’s products and services within unbranded and informal trade channels in a specific geographic region. You’ll be responsible for channel partner management, sales strategy execution, and field marketing oversight, focusing on national chains, wholesalers, informal outlets, and alternative distributors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all unbranded channel stores (NCs, wholesalers, ADs, informal stores)

  • Act as first-line escalation contact for trade partner/customer queries

  • Oversee field marketing agency execution and compliance

  • Achieve channel sales and customer service targets

  • Build strong relationships with informal traders, spazas, hawkers, and other partners

  • Drive awareness and adoption of new products, promotions, and campaigns

  • Monitor competitor activity and implement strategic responses

  • Provide performance reports, market insights, and sales analysis

  • Create and maintain monthly store visit cycles and partner meetings

  • Support implementation of Vodacom’s unbranded channel strategy

  • Identify and recruit new business partners as per channel expansion plans

  • Ensure effective training and knowledge transfer to store staff

  • Improve TNPS and ENPS metrics across the region


Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Matric / Grade 12

  • 3-year diploma or degree in sales, marketing, or commerce (NQF 6 or higher)

  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in sales, marketing, or business development

  • Experience in:

    • Informal trade / SMME engagement

    • Retail sales execution and partner development

    • Telecoms industry (advantageous)

  • Driver’s license and own vehicle – Essential
