 Service Advisor
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Isando, Johannesburg, Gauteng


Purpose of the Role

The Service Advisor is responsible for all tyre-related administration and operations. This includes managing tyre maintenance data on the Embrace system, planning tyre surveys, branding, handling tyre stock, and ensuring all operational and safety procedures are followed. The role also includes staff oversight and maintaining accurate reporting for all tyre-related activities within the Value fleet.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • 1–2 years of experience in tyre servicing or service advisory roles


Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Monitor tyre bay staff productivity and attendance

  • Report absenteeism and late arrivals to the Tyre Supervisor or Manager

Tyre Administration

  • Open and close tyre job cards using the Embrace system

  • Record tyre fitments, surveys, rotations, and breakdowns

  • Accurately input tyre data including km readings, sizes, and brands

  • Ensure comments and documentation are properly captured

  • Attach scanned job cards to Embrace daily

Tyre Surveys

  • Schedule monthly surveys for all vehicles

  • Coordinate with staff and third-party service providers

  • Input manual surveys into Intasect system

Purchasing

  • Create purchase orders for tyres, tools, and consumables

  • Verify supplier invoices and ensure timely submission to creditors

  • Monitor and report on outstanding orders and delivery timelines

Stock Control

  • Secure and manage the tyre store

  • Maintain correct stock levels and conduct cycle counts

  • Label and bin tyres properly, return faulty tyres to the warehouse

  • Ensure tyres are branded before storage and tracked for retreading

Spare Wheel Management

  • Report missing spare wheels

  • Ensure spare wheels are secured and marked appropriately

Filing & Documentation

  • Maintain orderly filing of job cards, tyre survey books, and change slips

  • Control access to and distribution of documentation

  • Ensure documents are correctly sequenced and archived

Tools & Asset Management

  • Conduct weekly tool checks

  • Verify tyre bay assets monthly

  • Ensure tools are tagged and listed

Gate Pass Control

  • Validate gate passes with purchase orders or stock transfers

  • Ensure proper authorization and signatures

General Duties

  • Address queries and perform follow-ups

  • Monitor tyre abuse or warranty issues

  • Ensure puncture repairs and tyre issues are resolved quickly

Housekeeping

  • Maintain cleanliness in the tyre store and work area

  • Inspect the tyre support van daily and report issues

Health & Safety

  • Perform daily inspections (electrical, first aid kits, doors, DB box)

  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks and maintain safety registers

  • Keep the notice board updated

  • Follow POPIA-compliant clean desk policy

  • Adhere to company SOPs, dress code, HR and safety policies


Skills Required

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Embrace and Intasect system proficiency

  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical and mathematical ability
