Senior Stores Officer

Purpose of the Role

To oversee and manage the Logistics Department’s Stores Services for the maintenance workshop. The role involves ensuring the efficient supply of maintenance spares and commodities for the Department of Facilities Management – Technical Services, while complying with health and safety standards.


Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification (one of the following):

  • A relevant 3-year National Diploma with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or

  • Grade 12 with at least 5 years of relevant experience in:

    • Supervisory and management duties

    • Stock supply and issuing

    • Materials and logistics management

    • Store administration, stock control, and record keeping

Other:

  • A valid driver’s license


Required Competencies

  • Knowledge of procurement methods and warehouse systems

  • Strong store administration and stock control abilities

  • Computer literacy and numerical skills

  • Clear and concise communication (written and verbal)

  • Strong interpersonal skills; conflict resolution

  • Proactive, goal-oriented approach

  • High attention to accuracy and detail

  • Collaborative and client-focused work ethic

  • Ability to handle complex or sensitive situations with professionalism


Added Advantages and Preferences

  • 7 years of experience in one or more of the following:

    • Materials and logistics management

    • Supplying stock to maintenance workshops

    • ERP catalogue item creation

    • Staff supervision/management

    • Computerised stock control systems

    • Store management

    • Safety training

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree
