Purpose of the Role
The Analyst will support MTN’s strategic growth by contributing to M&A and Business Development projects. This includes research, financial analysis, strategic planning, and project execution aligned with MTN’s vision of becoming Africa’s leading digital platform business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning Support

Assist in shaping MTN’s long-term strategy

Identify emerging technologies, market shifts, and business models
Financial and Strategic Analysis

Build and maintain financial models (valuations, scenarios, investment decisions)

Analyze global trends and macroeconomic indicators
-
Support scenario planning to guide strategic direction
Research and Benchmarking
-
Conduct industry and competitor benchmarking
-
Gather and synthesize market data to support M&A initiatives
Project Execution

Support senior team members in delivering project milestones

Assist with due diligence and transaction documentation across the M&A lifecycle
Presentation and Communication

Create impactful presentation materials for internal and external use

Communicate data-driven insights and strategic recommendations effectively

Qualifications and Experience
Education
-
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field

Postgraduate qualification is advantageous
Experience
-
Minimum 2 years in a relevant role (M&A, strategy, finance, or business development)

Exposure to emerging markets preferred
-
Experience working in cross-functional teams and matrix structures
-
Medium to large corporate experience beneficial
