Role Purpose

To ensure food quality and safety standards are implemented, maintained, and improved across regional sites. The role involves auditing, training, policy compliance, and liaising with multiple stakeholders to drive continuous SHERQ improvement.


Core Responsibilities

Legislative and Policy Compliance

  • Enforce compliance with Food Safety legislation and Vector standards.

  • Align internal policies to legal and industry best practices.

  • Maintain and update quality policies, checklists, and documentation.

Operational Compliance and Auditing

  • Conduct warehouse and transport audits.

  • Implement QA strategies and HACCP systems.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits (including customer audits).

  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support product traceability and recall procedures.

Communication and Reporting

  • Analyse data and trends; present findings to management.

  • Prepare monthly management reports and post-incident investigations.

  • Engage with external regulators and service providers.

Teamwork and Self-Management

  • Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and collaboration.

  • Communicate potential risks and missed deadlines.

  • Support team objectives through proactive engagement.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Applied Science, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years in a food hygiene or health and safety environment.

  • Experience implementing and managing ISO systems (e.g. ISO 22000, HACCP).

  • Valid Code EB driver’s license.
