Purpose of the Role

To grow the Wine & Liquor portfolio in the hospitality and catering sector, drive sales and revenue, build strong client relationships, and enhance market share through expert product knowledge and customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Account Management

  • Achieve or exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets

  • Build and maintain strong B2B client relationships

  • Promote Red Star as the top liquor supplier in hospitality

  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor trends, pricing, and competitors

  • Gather customer feedback for internal teams

  • Stay informed about industry and consumer trends

Promotions & Merchandising

  • Execute promotions aligned with brand strategy

  • Educate clients on product features, pairings, and seasonal specials

  • Recommend and maintain product visibility

Customer Insights

  • Use buying behavior to refine product offerings

  • Investigate feedback to improve service

Operations & Coordination

  • Collaborate with logistics and procurement

  • Help resolve stock, invoice, and delivery issues

  • Ensure policy compliance

Reporting & Training

  • Maintain accurate records of client visits and activities

  • Submit sales reports and forecasts

  • Train peers in sales processes and best practices


Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Essential: Senior Certificate (Matric)

  • Desirable: Diploma/Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or Hospitality

  • Advantageous: WSET or sommelier certification

Experience

  • Essential:

    • 2+ years of B2B sales experience in liquor, hospitality, or F&B

    • Strong wine & spirits knowledge

    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

  • Desirable:

    • Experience distributing food/beverage products

    • Hospitality industry network
