Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve electrical maintenance call-outs

  • Test, install, repair, or modify electrical systems and infrastructure

  • Perform in-house electrical repairs and monitor contractors if needed

  • Report damages, repair actions, and timelines to clients and supervisors

  • Coordinate permits and access for work (e.g., hot works permits, shutdowns)

  • Maintain and repair all electrical infrastructure on site

  • Ensure job completion sign-off complies with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Assist in compiling and maintaining a repair database

  • Monitor and manage on-site spares and electrical inventory

  • Assist artisans with general tasks and follow procedural instructions

  • Ensure equipment is clean and in good working condition

  • Occasionally operate hoists and cranes

  • Verify quality of completed work

  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop

  • Perform other related duties as required


Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10 (NQF Level 2)

  • At least 1 year of job-related experience

  • Knowledge of university rules, regulations, and policies
