Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Growth & Opportunity Mapping

  • Identify and present growth opportunities to key customers on a bi-annual basis.

  • Set measurable goals and monitor progress to drive category revenue.

2. Shopper & Customer Insight Development

  • Conduct in-depth customer and shopper research to uncover trends and opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Channel Development, Customer Marketing, Sales) to translate insights into actionable strategies.

3. Point of Purchase (POP) Strategy

  • Develop and track category initiatives based on channel strategies.

  • Analyze purchasing behavior and align efforts to maximize product visibility and performance in-store.

4. Category & SKU Optimization

  • Provide guidance on category range, SKU rationalization, and product positioning.

  • Use market intelligence to help customers streamline their assortment and shelf presence.

5. Sales Capability Building

  • Deliver insights and tools to empower sales teams.

  • Provide recommendations and best practices to support the execution of category initiatives.

6. Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Develop systems to track category performance and identify gaps.

  • Offer actionable insights to improve performance and alignment with broader business goals.


Key Business Indicators (KBIs)

  • Revenue Growth: Category revenue uplift for key customers

  • Category Performance: Growth in market share and SKU contribution

  • Customer Engagement: Satisfaction scores, engagement frequency

  • Promotional Effectiveness: ROI and sales uplift from promotions

  • Innovation Success: Adoption rates of new in-trade initiatives


Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • BCom or Marketing degree (preferred)

Experience

  • 5–6 years of relevant experience in FMCG sales, marketing, or category management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Solid understanding of FMCG decision-making processes and category dynamics

  • Ability to adapt to fast-changing market conditions
