About the Role

De Beers is seeking a qualified Assistant Accountant to manage fixed asset financial processes for its operations in Musina. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with IFRS standards, support budgeting and forecasting, and participate in capital and project accounting while upholding the company’s values of safety, accountability, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the Fixed Assets Register in line with policies, ICFR/SOX, and IFRS compliance (specifically IAS 16 and IAS 36).
Complete month-end and year-end procedures including depreciation, impairment reviews, and asset verifications.
Compile and manage depreciation budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Ensure accuracy in asset accounting, reporting, and reconciliation.
Maintain and enhance fixed asset policies and procedures.
Support costing, capital, and project accounting functions.
Collaborate across departments to share insights and improve financial efficiency.
Assist the Cost and Financial Accountant as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Cost Accountancy
Minimum 3 years' experience in financial, cost accounting, or audit
At least 1 year of SAP experience (Fixed Assets & Projects modules preferred)
Must obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness Certificate)
Clear SAPS Criminal Record and qualifications verification

Key Competencies

Strong knowledge of IFRS (focus on IAS 16 and IAS 36)
Budgeting and cost-benefit analysis
Financial reporting accuracy and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
