ABOUT THE ROLE
BTT Durban is seeking to appoint four (4) Operator Level 4s to join its Operations team. The successful candidates will be responsible for executing safe, compliant, and efficient operations related to the storage, loading, and discharge of bulk products across various platforms – including ships, rail, and road tankers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure adherence to PPE and safety requirements at all times
-
Perform all SHEQ and operational tasks in line with BTT work instructions
-
Comply with the OHS Act, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards
-
Assist with loading/unloading of tankers, ships, rail, and drums
-
Support line preparation, stripping of tanks, and hose connection tasks
-
Perform decanting, stencilling, and preparation of drums
-
Assist in inserting/removing pigs and dipping tanks (under supervision)
-
Maintain housekeeping in designated areas – cleaning, grass cutting, painting, etc.

Operate a forklift for product stacking (if licensed)

Relocate between sites when required by operational needs
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Grade 12 / National Certificate – with Maths and Science preferred

Completed Operator Level 4 Competency Modules (through approved training centre)

Minimum 1 year experience in a chemical plant operations environment

Code 08 Driver’s Licence – Preferred

Proficiency in English (written and verbal)

Strong safety mindset and ability to follow strict procedures

Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks (hose connection, tank dipping, etc.)

Attention to detail and ability to work in a team

Reliable, punctual, and willing to work shifts
