Purpose of the Role

The Designate Assistant Manager will support the store's Management Team while undergoing structured training to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to manage a Checkers store. This role focuses on store operations, customer service excellence, team leadership, and sales performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply principles of effective store management

  • Support sales and profitability targets while ensuring high levels of customer service

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing staff

  • Help implement company policies and operational procedures

  • Participate in inventory control and merchandising strategies

  • Promote health and safety standards and maintain store cleanliness


Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric (compulsory)

  • Diploma or degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or a related field (advantageous)


Experience Required

  • Retail or customer service experience (preferred)

  • Previous leadership or management experience in any retail environment (required)


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to support and motivate a team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP systems

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
