Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Admin Clerk / Receptionist based in Bloemfontein. The role involves administering the receiving, capturing, and distribution of laboratory samples to ensure accurate information recording and timely sample processing.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification (compulsory)

  • BSc Degree (advantageous)

  • 0–1 year of relevant working experience

  • Laboratory experience is essential

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with laboratory information systems

  • Knowledge of organisational policies and procedures


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort and distribute samples according to SOPs to ensure prioritised handling

  • Register samples and resolve logging queries according to procedure

  • Dispatch specimens for processing and monitor report turnaround

  • Perform hospital rounds to collect samples and distribute reports

  • Handle administrative queries and resolve customer complaints

  • Track sample delivery progress and address delivery delays

  • Investigate and resolve pre-analytical laboratory process bottlenecks

  • Maintain clean working environment and ensure proper equipment preparation

  • Monitor and order stock; manage deliveries to doctor’s rooms

  • Represent the organisation professionally and ethically in all interactions

  • Manage reception area and direct clients appropriately

  • Handle patient payments and ensure compliance with cash-handling protocols

  • Log incidents, manage complaints, and use laboratory systems for task tracking

  • Prepare and scan patient forms; resolve incomplete scans

  • Follow uniform and professional appearance standards
