Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Admin Clerk / Receptionist based in Bloemfontein. The role involves administering the receiving, capturing, and distribution of laboratory samples to ensure accurate information recording and timely sample processing.
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification (compulsory)

BSc Degree (advantageous)

0–1 year of relevant working experience

Laboratory experience is essential

Computer literacy and familiarity with laboratory information systems

Knowledge of organisational policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities:
-
Sort and distribute samples according to SOPs to ensure prioritised handling
-
Register samples and resolve logging queries according to procedure
-
Dispatch specimens for processing and monitor report turnaround
-
Perform hospital rounds to collect samples and distribute reports
-
Handle administrative queries and resolve customer complaints
-
Track sample delivery progress and address delivery delays
-
Investigate and resolve pre-analytical laboratory process bottlenecks
-
Maintain clean working environment and ensure proper equipment preparation
-
Monitor and order stock; manage deliveries to doctor’s rooms
-
Represent the organisation professionally and ethically in all interactions
-
Manage reception area and direct clients appropriately
-
Handle patient payments and ensure compliance with cash-handling protocols
-
Log incidents, manage complaints, and use laboratory systems for task tracking
-
Prepare and scan patient forms; resolve incomplete scans
-
