Job Purpose

To manage cash transactions, ensure accurate reconciliation of payments, and support the branch in finance and administrative functions, including daily banking, supplier management, and compliance with internal procedures.


Key Responsibilities

Cash Receipting:

  • Handle customer payments and respond to inquiries

  • Count and verify payments; issue accurate receipts

  • Process cheque payments and reconcile amounts due

  • Ensure transactions align with company policies

Financial Administration:

  • Process and verify supplier documents and invoices

  • Assist in authorizing and paying invoices

  • Maintain and update supplier accounts and contracts

  • Handle queries from suppliers and branches

  • Reconcile remittances with invoices/statements

Sundry Payments:

  • Track payments and follow up on pending invoices

  • Maintain accurate supplier information

Month-End Support:

  • Assist with issuing cheques and ensuring timely payments

Additional Duties:

  • Manage branch filing systems

  • Handle petty cash, floats, and daily deposits

  • Prepare daily summary sheets

  • Provide relief for switchboard operations as needed


Requirements

Education:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) required

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance/Administration preferred

Experience:

  • 2–3 years in bookkeeping and administrative roles essential

  • Experience with creditors is desirable

Skills:

  • Strong numerical and financial skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Attention to detail and high organizational ability

  • Good telephone etiquette and communication skills

  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Clear ITC and criminal record required
