Job Purpose
Vega School, a brand of The Independent Institute of Education (IIE), is looking for a Student Relations Specialist to assist students with academic progression, resolve queries, and ensure excellent student support services.
Requirements
Minimum Education:
- National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6)
- Advanced Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 7) (Advantageous)
Minimum Experience:
- 2 years in administration and customer service
- 1 year experience in project or operational management
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Student Registration & Academic Progression Counselling
- Assist students with registration changes between semesters or years
- Advise students on different curriculum scenarios
- Support the Retention Project on campus
2. Student Engagement & Support
- Conduct academic orientation programmes
- Explain policies and academic procedures to students
- Facilitate class visits and follow-up sessions
- Help students with assignment submissions
3. Student Query Resolution
- Resolve student queries within the agreed Service Level Agreement
- Log all student interactions on the academic system
- Generate letters and documents for students
- Escalate unresolved queries to the Senior Student Relations Specialist
4. Cross-Departmental Query Resolution
- Collaborate with various departments to assist students
- Stay updated on campus developments
5. Administration & Team Support
- Capture student notes in the academic system
- Identify student query trends
- Support other members of the Customer Relations Centre team
