We are currently looking for a dedicated Vending Assistant to join our team in Rosebank. The role involves maintaining and monitoring vending machines to ensure they are operational, well-stocked, and clean, while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Vending Machine Maintenance:
- Monitor vending machines regularly to ensure they are functioning correctly and report any malfunctions promptly.
- Clean and maintain the vending machines and surrounding areas to provide a safe and hygienic environment.
Customer Service:
- Provide a high level of customer service, assisting clients with queries and addressing complaints swiftly.
- Ensure that all service needs of members and their guests are met with professionalism and courtesy.
Stock Management:
- Restock vending machines to ensure product availability and assist with regular stock takes.
- Liaise with Brand Representatives regarding sales and promotions for premium coffee and tea brands.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels and communicate any discrepancies to the relevant personnel.
Cash Handling:
- Operate the cash register efficiently and handle transactions accurately.
- Ensure proper handling and recording of cash payments and receipts.
Support Duties:
- Assist in setting up the work/service station correctly and on time.
- Prepare and serve beverages, including premium coffee and tea, in line with brand standards.
- Monitor the coffee shop area during peak hours to ensure smooth operation.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Client-oriented, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain good personal hygiene.
- Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and peak periods.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
- Good hand-eye coordination and practical skills for handling machines.
- Familiarity with premium coffee and tea brands is advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Vending Assistant or in a similar role.
- Experience in a customer service environment, particularly in catering or hospitality, is preferred.
