Job Purpose

The Environmental Administrator will provide administrative support to help drive environmental efficiency within Sasol's mining operations, supporting the business in meeting environmental goals and compliance standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform daily administrative tasks to assist the business in achieving environmental objectives.
  • Conduct and register critical control verifications (CCVs) on the Isometrix system.
  • Support environmental inspections to ensure compliance with the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and water use license (IWUL) conditions.
  • Manage aspects and impacts related to mining activities, ensuring audit findings are assigned, registered, and resolved.
  • Assist in data collection and reporting for regulatory authorities.
  • Participate in SHE meetings and conduct presentations to raise environmental awareness.
  • Maintain a reporting system for environmental incidents and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support the Environmental Practitioner in obtaining necessary environmental permits and approvals.
  • Assist with ISO14001 environmental management system implementation and review Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Complete invoicing tasks as needed.

Requirements

Education:

  • Grade 12/N3 with English or Business English.
  • SHE Environmental Diploma or Degree.

Experience:

  • 0+ years of relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong action planning and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage complexity and align plans effectively.
  • Detail-oriented, accountable, and capable of multitasking.
  • Proficient in office administration and task management.
