Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice to join our team in the automotive industry. The role involves performing services, repairs, and maintenance on customer vehicles, as well as diagnosing and solving technical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, Repair, and Maintenance: Perform maintenance, repair, and service work on a variety of vehicle types.
- Diagnosing and Fault Finding: Utilize diagnostics equipment to identify vehicle issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Engine Overhaul and Repair: Overhaul and repair vehicle engines, both automatic and manual.
- Parts Ordering and Sourcing: Order and source required parts for repairs.
- Transmission Work: Remove and replace both automatic and manual transmissions.
- Work Environment: Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Presentable appearance with sober habits.
- Strong timekeeping and punctuality skills.
- No criminal record.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate and work well with a team.
- Work Under Pressure: Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to Learn: Openness to learning new skills and embracing new technologies.
- Experience with diagnostics equipment and computer literacy.
- Strong technical background.
- Ability to set high standards for oneself and within the team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a workshop environment preferred.
- Motor Industry Experience: Previous experience in the automotive field is beneficial.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required for this role.
- Matric Certificate: Minimum educational qualification.
