Job Description

RCL FOODS is seeking an experienced Creditors Clerk to join its Accounts Payable team at the National Office in Westville, Durban. Reporting to the Creditors Controller, this role focuses on managing records for suppliers (vendors) involved in transactions with the business.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Matric with Mathematics and Accountancy.
• Relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.

Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience as a Creditors Clerk.
• SAP experience is advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Invoice and Credit Memo Processing:

   • Match invoices/credit memos with SAP receipts in the GR/IR account.
   • Ensure invoices/credit memos are VAT-compliant and that supplier details match SAP Masterdata.
   • Capture invoices/credit memos in SAP and log queries on Sharepoint for resolution.
   • Investigate discrepancies between supplier statements, invoices, receipts, and purchase orders.
   • Collate and verify supplier invoices/statements and prepare monthly reconciliations before payment.

2. Query Management:

   • Manage all Sharepoint queries, working to resolve and communicate solutions promptly.
   • Follow up on long-standing queries and address those identified by Creditor Administration Clerks.

3. GR/IR Management:

   • Review monthly GR/IR balances for suppliers, resolving or reversing outstanding balances.
   • Prepare GR/IR journals for write-off on older balances.

4. General and Ad-hoc Administration:

   • File records within the area of responsibility and compile ad hoc spreadsheets/analyses.
   • Assist the Controller or AP Accountant with ad hoc requests as needed.

5. Information and Data Management:

   • Ensure accurate data capture in SAP by team members to support reliable reporting and trend analysis.

This role is ideal for candidates with meticulous attention to detail, experience in data management, and the ability to handle queries efficiently.
