JOB OVERVIEW
SPCC is seeking to employ a Shop Assistant / Cashier who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the store.
The successful candidate will contribute to providing customers with a pleasant shopping experience through strong product knowledge, stock availability, excellent housekeeping, awareness of the latest fashion trends and effective measures to minimise stock losses.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 / Matric.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Good time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good computer literacy and problem-solving capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Provide high-class customer service at all times.
- Assist customers with product selection to increase basket value.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge and awareness of current fashion trends.
Cashier & Till Operations
- Process customer merchandise through the tills accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure transactions are handled in accordance with store procedures.
- Maintain accuracy when processing customer purchases.
Stock & Merchandise
- Ensure all new and replenishment merchandise is placed on the sales floor.
- Monitor stock availability and presentation.
- Assist with action plans aimed at minimising stock losses.
- Ensure store equipment is secured and properly accounted for.
Store Operations
- Ensure all ticketing and visual displays are correctly implemented.
- Support the Manager in Charge with day-to-day store duties.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the store.
- Understand and support the achievement of daily, weekly and monthly sales targets.
- Remain aware of and comply with health and safety rules.
