JOB OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity has become available at the CODE Support Office within the Buying team for a Buyers Assistant in the Accessories Department.
The successful candidate will provide effective and accurate administrative and general assistance to the Buyer, contributing towards the achievement of the Company's sales and profit objectives.
The ideal candidate should be confident, positive and resilient, with a passion for fashion and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 / Matric is an essential requirement.
- A relevant qualification in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Retail.
- Administration.
- Fashion Design.
- Clothing Production.
- Product Development.
- Merchandising.
- A related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience, preferably 2 years, in an Administrative or Buyer's Assistant role within a retail or buying environment.
- Proficiency in the latest Microsoft packages and/or G-Suite, including Docs, Sheets and Slides.
- Working knowledge and experience with Airtable and/or Ukusa would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of quality control and garment technology relating to accessories and footwear would be advantageous.
- Understanding of the retail cycle and buying process would be advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative & Buying Support
- Provide effective and accurate administrative assistance to the Buyer.
- Assist with activities that support the Buying team's sales and profit objectives.
- Maintain accurate information, records and reports.
- Support the Buyer with day-to-day buying-related administrative requirements.
Customer & Relationship Management
- Demonstrate a strong customer-service orientation.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop strong networking relationships within and outside the organisation.
- Communicate effectively at all levels, both within and outside the Company.
Numerical & Reporting Skills
