Key Responsibilities

• Support MMU Operations:

  • Assist the MMU Controller with operating and managing Mobile Manufacturing Units (Blend trucks).

  • Conduct regular inspections on MMUs and fixed plants to ensure compliance with SABS and World Class standards.

• Blasting-Related Tasks:

  • Help measure blast holes and assist with charging, stemming (closing), guarding, and cleaning.

• Logistics and Handling:

  • Load and unload packaged explosives and accessories.

  • Ensure correct loading and unloading of products into trucks.

• Site and Equipment Housekeeping:

  • Maintain cleanliness of the site, wash bay, truck park, and trucks.

• Legal Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all legal and safety requirements.

  • Ensure MMUs are maintained according to World Class standards.

• Other Duties:

  • Perform other assigned tasks that support blasting and operations on-site.

  • Work independently when required.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric)

• Licenses: Code B driver’s license (Light Motor Vehicle)

• Health and Safety:

  • Must be able to obtain a red ticket (medical clearance for mine work)

  • Safe working practices and awareness of hazardous materials handling

• Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of blasting products and explosives

  • Understanding of hazardous material handling procedures
