Service Advisor

Purpose of the Job
Deliver professional customer service by managing vehicle service appointments, coordinating repairs, communicating costs and timelines, and supporting workshop operations while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Manage customer appointments professionally and efficiently

Accurately record customer and vehicle details, including concerns

Explain work needed, costs, timelines, and payment methods to customers

Prepare service orders and verify customer creditworthiness
-
Follow the ‘first time right’ policy to ensure quality

Communicate with customers about additional parts or delays
-
Perform quality checks on warranty/goodwill claims
-
Monitor progress of maintenance and repair work
-
Collaborate with technicians to document work accurately

Report any productivity or quality issues immediately

Ensure accurate billing and documentation
-
Return vehicles clean and ready for collection

Confirm invoices before handing over vehicles

Conduct follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction

Optimize workshop loading and resource allocation

Stay updated on automotive industry trends

Monitor departmental expenses and daily task planning

Maintain professional conduct and adhere to dress code

Uphold health and safety and housekeeping standards
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
-
At least 1 year experience as a Service Advisor

Experience in retail motor industry is a plus
