Job Purpose
To assist artisans with the electrical, mechanical, and civil maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and buildings, ensuring ongoing operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric with Physical Science and Mathematics,
  OR

  • Technical Senior Certificate / similar technical qualification

• N3 Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (advantageous)

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Maintenance Assistant in an FMCG or similar environment

• Practical experience in:

  • Welding

  • Measuring

  • Proper use of tools and equipment

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance

• Assist with inspections of machinery and equipment according to supplier and internal standards

• Support scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs on machinery and equipment

• Assist with building-related electrical repairs

Civil Maintenance

• Help inspect and maintain water systems and main water supply

• Assist with general building maintenance according to the plan

General Duties

• Follow all reasonable instructions from Artisans, Managers, or authorized personnel

• Perform daily inspections to help prevent breakdowns

• Participate in special maintenance projects

• Keep toolbox stocked and maintenance workshop clean and organized

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the work area

• Adhere to food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

• Ensure proper cleanup of work areas after maintenance tasks
