Purpose of the Job

To ensure accurate receipt, handling, and return of stock, maintaining optimal stock levels, and facilitating the smooth flow of goods between suppliers, distribution centers, and the store. This role is key to maintaining inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Receive and verify deliveries against invoices for accuracy in quantity, variant, and condition
Capture invoices timeously and accurately on the system
Process returns to suppliers per SOP
Keep the storeroom organised and compliant with standards
Manage and monitor high-risk stock
Report discrepancies to the manager
Handle returns/credit notes for damaged or unordered goods
Perform manual tasks including heavy lifting and offloading pallets
Assist with general store duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)

Experience Required

1+ years’ experience in a retail or FMCG store environment in a similar stock/inventory role (Essential)

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth understanding of stock management principles
Experience with SAP systems (Advantageous)
Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
Good problem-solving and time management skills
Strong organizational abilities and communication skills
Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, Office 365

Work Environment

Labour-intensive role – physical fitness is important (e.g., lifting heavy boxes, offloading pallets)
