Role Summary:

Oversee workshop administration and support vehicle fleet management.

Report directly to the Transport Manager.

Ensure vehicle repairs, maintenance, route tracking, fuel consumption monitoring, and driver management.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Education: Grade 12 plus tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
-
Experience: At least 3 years in supervisory/management role in distribution/transport.
-
FMCG experience preferred.
-
Knowledge of JDE system advantageous.
-
Strong English communication, numeracy, and computer literacy (Excel, email).
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Repairs & Maintenance:
-
Ensure daily driver checklist completion.
-
Schedule and track vehicle servicing.
-
Log and follow up on vehicle faults.
-
Order vehicle spares as needed.
Accident/Incident Management:
-
Compile accident reports and insurance claims.
-
Arrange vehicle repairs and cooperate with police as needed.
Route Tracking:
-
Monitor vehicle GPS trackers and mileage.
-
Investigate route deviations and idle times.
Fuel Consumption:
-
Reconcile fuel slips with supplier records.
-
Address discrepancies and train drivers to reduce fuel use.
Transactional Duties:
-
Monitor validity of vehicle licenses, driver licenses, and PDPs.

Handle vehicle licensing administration.
-
Debrief drivers after routes, close off issues.

Manage traffic fines.
People Management:
-
Set daily objectives, monitor staff performance.
-
Provide feedback, disciplinary action, and recognition.
-
Conduct performance assessments twice yearly.
-
Hold monthly staff meetings and report to senior management.
General:
-
Attend inter-departmental meetings.
-
Ensure delivery vehicles are washed weekly.
-
Enforce company policies among drivers.
