Role Summary
The Quality & Regulatory Assurance (QRA) Lead for Africa is responsible for developing and executing the QRA strategy across the African region. The role ensures alignment with global and regional standards, supports regulatory compliance, drives quality initiatives, and provides leadership across multiple clusters, countries, and sectors, especially in Life Sciences & Healthcare (LSHC).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

Develop and lead the QRA strategy for Africa, aligned with global and EMEA frameworks

Support all business sectors, including LSHC, ensuring high-quality operations

Manage quality teams across the region, ensuring the execution of the quality roadmap
Operational Excellence

Drive QRA processes and initiatives aligned with strategic objectives

Implement and monitor service quality KPIs, conduct root cause analysis, and lead improvement actions

Provide support for new site startups and operational projects

Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and regulatory requirements
Governance & Compliance

Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
-
Support regulatory and licensing activities across the region
-
Act as company representative with local authorities for GxP licenses

Prepare and support customer audits and regulatory inspections
Training & Development
-
Deliver training on QRA processes, tools, standards, and continuous improvement methods

Coach and mentor Quality Champions, site management, and operational leaders

Identify and address skill gaps within QRA teams
Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and regulators

Support the development of solutions for existing and new clients from a quality perspective

Lead and influence change management processes across business units
Qualifications & Experience
-
Matric / Grade 12
-
Recognised science degree (Pharmacology, Chemistry, Biology, or LSHC-related field)

Certified Quality Auditor or equivalent qualification is advantageous

Project/programme management certification or experience
-
Minimum 7–10 years of management experience in logistics or related sectors

Strong understanding of GxP, GMP, GDP, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485

Experience managing quality systems and achieving certifications in complex environments

Proven ability to lead and influence non-specialist teams in regulatory environments

Knowledge of logistics operations, especially in warehousing and LSHC
