Job Purpose:
To manage branch claims assigned within mandate, ensuring claims are settled accurately and efficiently, according to company standards. This role supports the productivity and image of the claims department and helps maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:

Evaluate and investigate claims to prevent financial loss to the company.
Customer Service:
-
Deliver high-quality service to both internal and external clients according to service level agreements.
Broker Support:
-
Provide brokers with technical advice and additional claims-related assistance.
Effective Communication:
-
Respond professionally to all queries within 24 hours.

Ensure all claims are registered within 24 hours of receipt.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years' experience in both Commercial (including AGRI) and Personal Insurance

Strong understanding of:
-
Claims procedures
-
Insurance terminology
-
Relevant legislation (e.g., Prescription Act, Insurance Act, FAIS)

Underwriting and policy wording
-
Basic risk assessment and assessor appointment

Reinsurance and treaties (basic knowledge)
-
Financial principles (estimates, premiums, co-insurance)

FAIS compliance required
Educational Requirements:

NQF 4 Insurance Qualification or equivalent (advantageous)
