Job Overview
The Ramp Agent plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and timely ground handling of aircraft, luggage, and cargo. This includes close coordination with crews, service providers, and internal departments to meet operational performance standards.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, especially regarding Dangerous Goods

Maintain overall ramp and aircraft-side safety and security
-
Coordinate boarding clearance between crew and ground handlers

Oversee baggage and cargo loading/unloading
-
Monitor turnaround processes and reduce delays by ensuring all service providers are present
-
Conduct ramp safety audits and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) checks
-
Pick up/drop off crew as needed
-
Assist with flight operations and delay management
-
Support crew requests (e.g., water, clean-up services, restroom management)
-
Liaise with stakeholders such as ACSA, fuel handlers, etc.

Inspect baggage department and ramp areas

Arrange assistance for oversized equipment or cargo

Track and report on ramp and passenger service KPIs

Complete ramp agent forms and incident reports

Coordinate disrupted operations and inter-departmental communication
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in airline/aviation operations (ramp, baggage, or passenger services)
-
Code 08 Driver’s License (essential)

No criminal record
-
Familiarity with airside safety and airport operations

Competency in planning, organizing, and time management
