Job Purpose:

To oversee maintenance of Council vehicles and Heavy Plant by managing subordinate staff.

---

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and control subordinate staff

• Issue work and instructions, including to external breakdown companies

• Diagnose vehicle defects

• Oversee work carried out by artisans

• Maintain safe working practices compliant with OSH Act

• Train staff as required

• Assist and relieve immediate supervisor when needed

• Discipline subordinates as necessary

• Help monitor standby generator maintenance activities

• Allocate and monitor workshop vehicle usage by subordinates

Essential Requirements:

• Trade Tested Artisan (Petrol, Diesel, Construction Plant, Body Builder, or Spray Painter)

• Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC)

• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)

• 4 years relevant post-qualification experience

• Computer literacy

Preferred Requirements:

• 5 years relevant post-qualification experience
