Job Purpose

To operate across all equipment and workstations in the Edge Shop processing area, and support in the screen line when required. The role is hands-on and requires attention to safety, quality, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Buff out cosmetic scratches on glass
Operate across different processing areas: Polishing, Arissing, Drilling, and Screen Line
Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures
Handle, process, and pack glass products according to required specifications
Maintain housekeeping and safety in the department
Accurately report all breakages and defects to the Team Leader
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained, cleaned, and stored properly
Report mechanical or operational defects in machinery
Read and interpret 2D drawings, job cards, and labels
Uphold quality standards across all production activities
Operate overhead crane as required
Follow all environmental and operational rules

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

Grade 12 (Matric)

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in glass processing
Knowledge of glass handling and quality control

Skills Required

Good analytical and numerical ability
Computer literacy
Ability to read and interpret 2D technical drawings
Skilled in using precision measuring equipment
Basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems (specifically cutting machines)
High attention to safety and urgency in production tasks
