Job Purpose

To maintain constant communication with cash-in-transit vehicle crews, ensuring all client services are completed safely and efficiently. The Radio Controller monitors crew movement, manages schedules, responds to emergencies, and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures to guarantee safe return of all assets to the base.


Key Responsibilities

Radio & Route Control

  • Maintain 24/7 radio/telephone contact with vehicle crews

  • Track crew locations and actions; use secure communication codes

  • Maintain accurate daily logs and records of all vehicle movements

  • Ensure emergency procedures are followed and all crews are briefed

  • Keep updated maps and emergency contact numbers for the area

Client Communication & Service

  • Confirm service cancellations directly with clients

  • Ensure all clients are serviced per contract

  • Record and escalate client complaints for resolution

Operational Coordination

  • Assist in adjusting schedules due to incidents or delays

  • Coordinate with box room and counting house teams for smooth operations

  • Liaise with other branches during emergencies

Administrative & Reporting

  • Update code books for new/terminated services

  • Complete box pre-lists and inform relevant departments of any changes

  • Submit regular reports and feedback to management


Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric / Grade 12

  • Certifications:

    • PSIRA Grade A (Required)

    • CIT Competency

    • Code 10 Driver’s Licence with PDP (Advantageous)

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years in CIT (Cash-in-Transit) operations preferred

    • Previous control room experience advantageous

  • ITC Status: Clear credit record

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service orientation

  • Computer literacy (MS Office required)

  • Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems
